After reading the bill, it appears he could shut down any site deemed to be a threat. All he’d have to do is get a virus or bad site link posted, and down we’d go.

If Barky shuts down the internet...the U.S. economy and, by extension, the world economy, will come to a halt.

Before I retired, I worked on Wall Street (a loathed investment banker) and I was always amazed at how the world would come to a screeching halt at the slightest monumental uncertainty.

If Barky shuts down anything...the goose that lays the golden eggs will go on strike.

So...go ahead, Barkey...pull that trigger!!!

In the final analysis, Obama is sadly mistaken about the proverbial PIE...once he changes the system, the PIE simply evaporates.

The PIE of the capitalist system is all a discount of future activity. Kill the future...erase the PIE!

I am glad I am American
I am glad that I am free
But I wish I were a dog
And Obama was a tree.

I would guess Obama doesn’t like Palin’s use of the internet to beat down his healthcare agenda.

I had to read more than 3/4's of the bill before getting to the point where it says the President has the power to...

Below is a snippet from SB 773 ... read into it what you want, but the Pres could declare anything to be an "emergency".

SEC. 18. CYBERSECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY. The President-- (1) within 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, shall develop and implement a comprehensive national cybersecurity strategy, which shall include-- (A) a long-term vision of the Nation’s cybersecurity future; and (B) a plan that encompasses all aspects of national security, including the participation of the private sector, including critical infrastructure operators and managers; (2) may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network;
