Oh, hell yes.
I don’t have a huge problem with Vitter, but the thought of a cigar chomping General Honore headed to the senate is just too awesome.
What makes you think a man that cheats on his wife won’t sell you out! Morality counts.
LTG (R) Honore is just what the US Senate needs. A good infantryman to lead that august body from the morass of bs in which it is currently mired. With Vitter’s zipper problems, LTG Honore will smoke Vitter’s fourth point of contact in the primary.
Follow me!
Wonder if he’ll run as a democrat?
An ugly internecine primary battle here is Melancon’s ticket to the Senate. Let Vitter alone and have the General run for Melancon’s seat or against Landrieu. We can’t risk one of our best voting members.
Wow, I am beginning to think the real action will be in the Senate. I think we will say goodbye to Corzine, Dodd, Specter and Reid. Now maybe Honorae to fill a slot with hoepfully more of a conservative, and the question remains who will replace Kennedy (will they change the law again or get a supreme court challenge) No to mention Byrd's frail health.
HOT DAMN! This guy is just what we need in the Republican party.Sorry vitter, you cant hold a candle to the General.
I would just hope that General Honore doesn’t turn out to be an Obama-supporting RINO like Gen Powell.
That’s the problem, you don’t until he starts voting. Do you guys realize Vitter was the only Senator with the balls to vote NO for Hillary for Sec of State ? Indiscretions aside, he’s one of our gutsiest and best members in that body.
You don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Vitter has a strong following in Louisiana and a good conservative voting record. Throwing out a sure conservative for an unknown is foolish politics. I agree with the other poster - let the General cool his heals and go after Landrieu.
I hope he does run against him. Vitter is compromised it is better to replace him.
Yes, and we need more of them across the country.
They know how to Kick Commie A$$es.
NO BS.
I live in Louisiana and I think you’re nuts! Vitter has been a great senator, despite his moral failure (which we all have). Good God, here we have the exact kind of conservative Senator we want and now some want to defeat him. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
Vitter is a diaper wearing, wh*re visiting RINO who just became conservative recently when he realized he was up for re-election.
Let’s throw this diaper wearing baby out with the bathwater and not be stuck on stupid!
Bring it on General!
I do not know anything about the General, but I would much rather have an X-military leader than the run of the mill attorney we typically get. They invariably make a deal and sell us out in DC.
I would love to see someone X-military officer with balls take Kay Bailey Hutchison’s seat in the Senate for TX.
Louisiana has surprised me in recent polls, it appears that since Katrina the balance has shifted.
The last two Obozo polls that I have looked at, showed Louisiana with higher anti Obozo % than Texas or Oklahoma.
I want to hear what he has to say first. I think there is going to be a lot of anti-politican, anti-incumbent, anti-Washington sentiment in 2010. If Honore is a RINO trying to run to Vitter’s left, then to hell with him. But if he’s a rock-ribbed conservative, in the environment that I foresee ahead of us, I’d rather be the one arguing for citizen politician like Honore than a career politician like Melancon OR Vitter. The more people we can get into office who aren’t career politicians, the better.
Vitter’s moral lapse is problematic, but he has been consistent on all the important issues. If General Honore wants to serve in the Senate, I’d rather see him go up against Landrieu.
Um, no. His record has been consistently Conservative. Name me other Senators who had the balls to vote against Hillary for Sec of State (especially given she’s committed enough criminal misconduct when she was First Lady to warrant a very long prison sentence). I lament his personal conduct, but his voting record is simply impeccable.
