What the Heck are they afraid of with that? Right on the head and straight forward. Do they think that they will get their broadcasting licenses pulled by the FCC?
What exactly is their power to choose ads? Is it entirely their call? Is their no obligation to allow whatever is bought and paid for provided the ad conforms to regulations?
