Wouldn’t surprise me. The FDA system needed some reform, but Obama will use that carrot (and a stick) to get exactly what he wants, public health be damned. In a decade or two I would expect to see ads on TV saying “talk to your Congressman about new prescription strength Amazopin, just one tablet and watch all your anxiety melt away”

The insurance companies lobbying for positive change is vastly different from lobbying for nationalized health care.
Their effort means there is a chance single payer is dead
