My wife reacts to math the exact same way.

She can do it, but just the word “math” makes her freeze up.

We got in a shouting match over this one.

Ryan was given $100 to shop with by his grandmother. He shopped in a store where he gets a 40% employee discount. What is the retail amount he can purchase with his $100?

She kept saying $140, and I tried to explain to her that the answer was $166.67 for over an hour. She just refused to see it.

Very frustrating!

There are many who don’t understand “inverse” or its use in mathematics. That’s not uncommon. No use getting frustrated by it...

That one has me stumped too! It seems some people are good with numbers, while others are good with words. And a few are good with both.

I’d argue that the problem is really you. Yes, you are correct, but spending an hour trying to explain the reason why is your own fault.

Next time do this math equation in your head:

Irritating my wife for an hour = ________?

Your marraige mathematics needs some work.
