I was thinking specifically of the lynchings which occurred quite regularly till the 1930’s (at least here in Texas)

One of the most famous lynchings occurred right here in Waco, Texas in 1916, and was attended by 14,000 people.

You can read about it here:

Incidents like that would leave a lasting impression on the black community, and give many with long memories cause for concern in the current situation.

OK, let’s go back and refight the Civil War. No, no, go back to the introduction of slavery to the US & Europe. Wait, we can’t leave out the invading Mongul hoards...
Were you in Waco, 1916? Did it change your life forever?
Last week,in the hospital, my roomate’s black congregation, 6 or so, were visiting. They were mocking black people who name their kids with names no one can pronounce or remember.
Why can’t they use John or David....? It was the funniest stuff I ever heard, and made me laugh sick! Oh man, I have happy memories of those days!
You can fight the battles of the past and never change a thing, or you can “brighten the corner where you are.”
