I am an American who is living in Panama if it is any of your business.
I cannot explain this since U.S. citizens have been involved in defending our country only twice on our land.

An American living in Panama would not call Panama 'his country' as you do in the second sample. If true, then you are no longer an American, and can go piss up a rope for any opinion on the subject at hand.
