GOP Weekly Address: America Doesn't Need ObamaCare Run "and Dictated" by Washington - Video 8/15/09

Here is video of Utah GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch delivering the Republican Weekly Address, responding to President Obama's weekly address.

Hatch talked about Health Care, and said he was "disappointed" at statements that Americans who are voicing their opposition to Obama's Health Care plan are somehow "Un-American."

Hatch said the spending of more than $1 Trillion the Democrats propose spending on Government Health Care will not solve the problem and does not make sense.

Hatch set forth key points that Republicans believe should be the focus on Health Care Reform legislation:

1. Reforming the Health Insurance Market for every American to make it available for everyone to get coverage, with no one being denied due to "pre-existing conditions."
2. Protect the coverage of the 85% of Americans who like their Health Care by reducing costs for everyone. The key way to reduce costs is to reduce the number of "junk" or frivolous lawsuits against doctors and hospitals that drive costs way up.
3. Giving states flexibility to design their own approaches to covering the uninsured in their own state.
4. Empowering small business owners to buy affordable coverage for their own employees.

Hatch closed by saying that the Democrats' Plan would essentially put everyone on Medicaid. He pointed out that Obama is planning to cut funding to Medicare by billions to help fund the new plan that would, over time, result in millions of Americans moving from private insurance to the public option. Hatch said eventually, we would be left with a Government run "and dictated" plan from Washington.

These dems and MOST R’s are playing good-cop/bad-cop or apples vs oranges.....whatever the outcome, it is going to be disastrous or a catastrophe.....the dismantling of the best and most effective health care system in the world needs only to be cleared of the fraud and abuse it fosters, along with clearing illegals and some others milking it without legal or moral entitlement to it.
