The goose that laid the golden eggs had made many wealthy, was the envy of the world, and most considered her a gift from God. She was given proper care and respect and produced faithfully. When ill, she was nourished back to health by returning to the balanced menu designed for her constitution. Then, she was stolen away by organized criminals. Authorities considered them petty family thieves and did nothing. The thieves decided she was unpredictable and consumed too much good food. Since her menu was considered a living document, they fed her undesirable parasites, acorns and assorted nuts. Deeply in debt, they demanded she produce more and more. She became ill. Humiliated, they raided private chicken coops. They united to badger her night and day, threatening to withhold services. Why couldn't she produce on demand for the greater good? Substance must come before form. Maybe too much freedom made her selfish. They put her in smaller cages, but she got sicker. They refused to let anyone pray for her. They vowed to remove guns that might scare her. Maybe she needed the diversity of alien flocks. Unopposed by few and unable to admit they were wrong, they decided on surgery for the goose that had once laid those fabulous golden eggs. You know how the fairy tale ends. Are we going to surrender our freedoms, our representative government and let free-market capitalism die on the table of socialism/Marxism/communism at the hands of criminals? Write to Congress, living in their own fairy-tale worlds, and demand the criminals be brought to justice.
Charlie, the only problem of writing letters is that we are writing to the very crooks that absconded with the “Golden Goose”. We need to vote the rat bastids out! Limit terms and conditions(insurance, retirement, etc) for future representatives!
Exactly right, but until then, just maybe, just maybe someone still has a conscience.
