Her poll numbers in Alaska were plummeting with independents and democrats (she had been generally very popular). Illegal immigration in Alaska isn’t a real issue. She hasnt had to consider/address this as a MAJOR issue previously.

Say anything, betray the Constitution, throw away your integrity, just say ANYTHING to get elected. That’s the answer you’re looking for?
She accepted the VP role, part of the ticket. She didn’t set the policy.
You want her to turn around and kill the campaign?
She equivocated? Ain’t that enough of a hint?
She has come out recently against Cap and Trade (a McCain policy)? So assuming her postions are McCains are wrong.
She is only starting to express her views, now free from the constraints of being a Gov and subjected to ethics complaints. Give her time.
