A pathway for those willing to obey the terms of the citizenship process. Give them some strict criteria for citizenship and a deadline for fulfilling the requirements. One thing would be a $5,000 application fee that would be refundable when you have fulfilled the requirements. If the criteria are not met, it is deportation.

I would then make it tougher for the employer to hire illegals. If you are employing an illegal who has not enrolled in the pathway process, you will be fined $10,000. Make half of that money go to $5,000 rewards to those who turns in an illegal worker who is hired by any employer. The fines paid by employers would go to deportation costs.

We have to reduce the number of illegals in this country. They are putting huge stress on the health care system which is driving up health care costs. They are also keeping wages down for Americans who need money for their retirement and the education of their children.

This is bullsh*t being spread by a Romneybot. Palin is NOT pro-amnesty and anyone who knows anything knows that. This is pure bullsh*t being spread by by some moron who wants Mitt “Romneycare” Romney to win. He won’t.

This is so incriminating... just wow!

I’ll tell you what we should do, guys. I think that we should stampede like a herd of frightened wildebeest in separate directions. Then, we should repudiate Sarah Palin and tar her as a RINO.

What do you say, guys? What’s the worst the could happen: we fracture into tiny, insignificant tribes based around single issues while the country goes off the cliff into socialism? Nah, that could never happen. Better to have a perfect Leftist in the White House than to suffer an imperfect conservative in the Oval Office.

Hey, didn’t Reagan vote for Amnesty in 1986? That miserable RINO!

Folks, conservatism is not an either/or proposition. There are shades of conservatism. It makes absolutely NO SENSE, not right now, to dump someone who is so influential in the movement and who has done so much to mobilize the conservative base in this country simply because she differs from you on this one issue. Look, I don’t agree with her views on abortion or homosexuality, but that does not negate my commonality with her on issues of national security, gun rights, energy, and taxes. Some of y’all were willing to dump Cheney a while back because he expressed support for gay marriage — and Cheney has been one of our most effective spokesmen since Obama took over!

Be realistic. We’re looking at the bankruptcy of the United States of America, and we’re squabbling over Internet gossip like spoiled little children.

If you don’t like the choices, then YOU run for office as the “perfect” conservative candidate. Otherwise, man up and lend your support to the MOST conservative candidate running, even if you disagree with him/her on one or two specific issues. We can no longer afford the luxury of ideological purity — the country cannot afford it.

Here’s a more comprehensive answer she gave to Greta van Susteren on Halloween:

VAN SUSTEREN: Governor, you know, before economics hit us so heavily in the last month or so as a topic, the thing that grabbed people’s attention was illegal immigration. And that was the big problem for a long time. What’s your thought on that? I mean, what’s — how do can we fix the illegal immigration issue in this country?

GOV. SARAH PALIN: We’ve got to secure the borders, and we can’t be considering this broad range of amnesty that some would want. We’ve got to secure the borders and prove to the American people that the federal government is serious about this, and it’s got to be a comprehensive approach to dealing with the immigration challenge that we have — securing the borders, working with our border governors and mayors. They’re there on the front lines, understanding what some of the solutions can be, if only they have an administration who will work with them.

And McCain has a great comprehensive approach that he wants to take to this. It includes dealing humanely, too, with the 12 million or 13 million illegal immigrants that we have today also. But until we secure the borders, I don’t think Americans are even going to believe that we’re serious about fixing some of the problems that are just inherent with this challenge of so many illegal immigrants here.

Now, unfortunately, with McCain’s supporting proposal for this comprehensive approach to fixing problems there, there were about five poison pill amendments provided in the comprehensive approach that McCain wanted. And Barack Obama voted for those poison pills, killed the whole initiative, and we still have the problem that we have today.

Illegal immigration, though, is a perfect example of how these parties had better start working together, the D’s and the R’s, get it together if they’re serious about addressing the problem of illegal immigration. It’s not a Republican or a Democrat problem. It’s all of America’s issue.

Entire interview at link; scroll down to the end, as it’s one of the very last questions Greta asks of her.

Really really appreciate this poll RebelYell1990.

Finally flushed out all the trolls.

Typical of the RINOs/Romney supporters/or worse, that they pick a time like this to divert attention from the Healthcare debate. They are all REAL quiet at the moment.

Maybe these trolls like Obamacare, huh? Romneycare, Ouch!

BTW, FFS, she in McCain’s campaign as VP! She side stepped it quite well.

I’ve often wondered where Sarah stands on this issue now, but these parsed statements from October, 2008 when she was Juan McCain’s running mate are fairly meaningless. I remember her saying something like this, but we need to hear what she thinks now, and when this issue is once again forced upon us by the same ones who pushed it in 2006 and 2007.

The issue is to be revived this year, then she should speak out.

“Sarah Palin Is Pro Amnesty For Illegal Aliens - Univision Interview”

More like Juan McCain was the Ayatoullah of amnesty, and if Sarah Palin was going to be on that ticket, she had to tow the same line as McCain.
Fortunately, McCain lost.
Now is the time for Sarah to come out with her own policy on illegal immigration, which can only be no amnesty for law breakers.
Gov Palin already gave an indication of where she is headed on the illegal immigration issue with this tweet:
“Earlier tonight, Governor Palin tweeted the following:

Rep.Lynn's good HB3 Visa/Drivers Lic law:”If u dont have legal right to walk down AKn street, why should u have right to drive same street?” “
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2297675/posts

Nothing wrong with changing her stand from the WRONG headed McCain's. Changing positions on an issue is fine, so far as changing positions is to OUR way of thinking, not McCain's way of thinking.
Joe Biden did the same thing when Zero nominated him Vice president.

Just another axe grinder trying to put words in her mouth without allowing her to respond. The more they try to destroy her with baseless claims, the more people will rally to her side.

Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
I don’t know, I don’t know. That’s a good question.

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

And the last question would be about politics. You only have two more weeks left...
Yes

What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote?
I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.

Thank you so much. It would be impossible to ask you to say a few words in Spanish, right?
Oh my good-well, I don’t want to embarrass myself, but … but gracias and I do thank you so much for this opportunity. I appreciate it.

Thank you, muchas gracias, thank you.

This entire thread is a waste of time.

This issue will come up again soon, the Dems. say this year.

Sarah, and other prominent Republicans, should make their positions clear when the push for amnesty resumes.

(Lindsey Graham was working with Dems to revive it just this past week.)
