This is just one of the many many whackadoodle anti-Newt fictions that are propagated by the alleged “conservatives” on FR.

I recall Newt dressing down a reporter from PMSNBC at the GOP convention last year on their treatment (and the press in general) of Sarah Palin, and he hasn't let up since.

A few weeks ago he was asked if he was running for President in 2012 if Palin should be considered for VP. His response was something like "of course, but why assume that she would be on the bottom of the ticket?". It was a great response.

I haven't really laid out my reasons here on FR as to why it will be a Palin/Gingrich ticket in 2012, but I will in detail at some point. In a nutshell, voters will be looking for someone from outside of Washington (Palin) who has a record of government reform (Palin, Gingrich), promise to reduce the size and influence of government (Palin, Gingrich), and will have a plan to create REAL, private-sector jobs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and use our own natural resources (PALIN, GINGRICH). Drudge just posted a story about the price of oil crippling any economic recovery. This is why we are stuck and will only get "un-stuck" when we get serious about DOMESTIC energy production. As it now, every time we start to crawl out from the recession, we will get hammered with higher energy costs, which will knock us back down. That will result in lower energy prices, and then when we start to recover again - BAM - we'll get knocked down again. This vicious cycle can only be defeated by using AMERICAN oil, gas, coal, and nuclear energy. Then we won't be at the mercy of OPEC and oil speculators!

Palin and Gingrich would be the perfect team, as they have both delivered on promises of government reform. Palin especially will deliver the older, white voters that sat out last time around, and many others who don't normally vote but fear the loss of freedoms and liberties that they have come to take for granted - basically the same people packing the town hall meetings now.

If Newt has the humility to accept the VP spot I agree it would be a good ticket.

There’s also the simple supply and demand issue which is impacted by China and India industrialization and ... more cars in those countries.

China is has been buying massive oilfield rights in Iran for the last 10 years. But it also has several multi-reactor nuke sites and lots of coal-fired electric plants being built and coming on line.

The new Indian Tata car is not electric or alcohol based. It runs on gasoline.

By the way France is also building more new nuke plants.

Obama stopped Yucca Mountain research. There is no new offshore drilling. ANWR is dead for the moment. Coal plants are out.

All “green” energy replacements are absolutely ridiculous from a capacity perspective. Preposterous that any of them (even ALL of them together) could provide even 1 percent of our needs.

This is not a tenable or sustainable situation for America.
