You should really read up on your state gun laws. Pennsylvania is a very big pro gun state. We have two Democratic Senators now, but they both get an A rating from the NRA. The NRA held their annual convention here in Pittsburgh in 2004 and will be holding it in Pittsburgh again in 2011. I believe I read somewhere that Pa has the second highest membership in the NRA by state. This is a shall issue state for conceal carry. All you need is $25 for the processing and three friends who will vouch that you're a good guy, fill out the paperwork and you have a conceal carry license.

There is no mention of open carry in our state laws so it is in fact legal to do so. However, just as everywhere else, if you open carry in a large city, you're going to get looks and most likely a policeman ignorant of the law harrassing you.

During the election last year, a guy up in Beaver Pa. was arrested at an Obama rally for carrying openly while in a public park. Some lefty freaked out. Well, his case just got dismissed because it's perfectly legal to do so. The gun laws in Pa are reasonable and very lax.
