They simply weren’t going to offer the mega-contract deal that the other guys had received. In effect...they encouraged her to leave. Her time had come....and gone. New career? Doubtful.
That’s my guess too.
I knew this was eventually going to happen when they brought in Kara DioGuardi last season. I was always wondering why there was the need for a 4th judge and a female at that.
Well, there’s the answer.
Paula, last I heard, was making about $5 M from the show. She was negotiating for something like double that amount ( Ryan Seacrest is now earning $15 M a year ).
Apparently the negotiations broke down.
She already has a show lined up..it’s been in the works the last 5 months...it is a talent discovery show...just what we needed.
Nigel offered her a job with his reality show, “So You Think You Can Dance”. I wouldn’t count her out of the spotlight. If she wants it, the offer is there. That is if this is legit and not a contract ploy.
Apparently, Paul Abdul TURNED DOWN an offer that would have given her an 8 figure deal ( which according to reports, amounted to a “mere” 30% pay raise ).
