The Father of Canadian socialize medicine makes an about face.

Republicans say that this President and his administration want to eliminate private health insurance? In the long term this is true, in fact, watch the video where the President and members of his administration say that ultimately they want the government to take over all of healthcare, which will obviously close down private insurers.

Is this what democrats voted for? Did they realize when they voted for change that they were also voting for staggering national debt that is unsustainable, destruction of the free enterprise system in the auto industry, and limiting the salaries of executives of private corporations?

The road to socialized medicine is being constructed a mile at a time. If you are a senor and like your Medicare plan, don’t get too comfortable with it, because Obamacare will replace it next year. You will find out what change you can believe actually means, and it will not for the better.

In the 1960’s when Canada first considered adopting government healthcare, Claude Castonguay earned the title “father of Quebec Medicare”. Today Castonguay says that the Canadian system is in crisis. Between the dates of its inception an now, the Canadians have tried rationing healthcare. They flooded the system with taxpayer dollars to keep it solvent. It isn’t working.

Now  Castonguay has come full circle, and may earn the title “grandfather of privatization of healthcare in Canada”. He is suggesting that government hospitals lease space to the private sector so that patients can once again choose and pay for immediate treatment by the doctor of their choice, instead of having to travel to the U.S. Castonguay is now calling for reinstitution of private healthcare insurance plans. The turn around by Castonguay is as momentous as if the Pope were to decide that Protestantism is better then Catholicism.

Why would Castonguay be calling for change that is so diametrically opposed to the change that the Obama administration wants for Americans? Perhaps it is due to the fact that in towns like Norwalk, Ontario, in order to obtain an appointment with a local family doctor, one has to win a lottery.

When you hear the sad story of poor people in the U.S. not being able to afford medical insurance, consider the fact that no one is denied treatment in the U.S. In fact the Canadian government sends and pays for some Canadians to go to the U.S. for treatment, but Sylvia de Vires, an Ontario woman, was denied because she failed to fill out a government form correctly. The Canadian government sends about 80 patients to New York and Michigan for neurosurgery emergencies every year. Sylvia de Vires died with a 13-inch, fluid-filled cancerous tumor weighing 40 pounds attached to her ovary. Is this where Obamacare will end up?  Watch video

Sorry Claude Castonguay, your “change of heart” doesn’t get you off the hook for your part in bad policies that screwed up a lot of peoples lives.
