Visit the British Isles some day, and make your own assessment. I've visited both the U.K. and Ireland in the past three years, and while we're still ahead in lard content, those countries appear to be catching up fast.

That’s probably true, unfortunately the world (and me) is getting fatter (So much for Malthus and Erlich) - I don’t think its a good development, and neither do I think it’s the government’s business.
So many of these problems would be eliminated if people were left to face the consequences of their actions. And if there’s going to be anyone to soften the consequences, it should be voluntary - through the compassion residing within each one of us.
