About
I’m the owner/editor of AlaskaReport.com. I was raised in California until the day I turned 18 and got the hell out. I moved to Aspen, Colorado in 1985 with $225 in my pocket to become a journalist/ski bum. I was an unpaid photographer for the Aspen Daily News, a ski photographer for tourists on the mountain, a printer’s assistant, and worked as a chef. Three paid jobs there and I barely survived due to Aspen’s high prices. On the side I freelanced to ski magazines as a photographer. ... About DZ | Dennis Zaki Blog - AlaskaReport

Nice to see he listed his occupation properly, at any rate.

I skied in Aspen once and was amused by the opulent decor of McDonald's in that town --- crystal chandelier hanging from a cathedral ceiling above the 'dining room' ... wondered what Micky D's pays their burger flippers in Aspen ???

Actually, for full disclosure, I didn't go into the McD there, but saw it from the outside ... an amusing sight ... Went to a real restaurant for steak instead :)
