Although the White House has redesigned its website at a cost of $18 million, hoping to bring in more traffic, it has now declined to that of George W. Bush during the waning days of his presidency.

In February 2009, the Obama website was ranked almost the 500th most popular website however in July 2009, in spite of the redesign, it has dropped to 3,732 in the world. Just during the last three months, it has fallen 51.6 percent.

The aesthetics of the website give me a headache. It looks like it was designed by a 20 year old girl who loves excessive buttons and bubbly widgets and soft colors. It’s a metaphor for the guy occupying the site’s name sake: style over substance.
