To be open and honest, last summer I wasn't sure that Barack H. Obama was born in the United States, I felt that then candidate Obama was perpetuating the controversy by not telling Hawaii to show everyone their official birth certificate. A lot has happened since then, including Hawaii releasing the COLB, not the long form original birth certificate because that is against Hawaii law but a COLB never the less...Here's the point, besides the fact that Obama has proven to be American born many times over, if I was President Obama and there was no birther movement, I would invent one. It destroys the credibility of anyone who talks about it. To moderates and many conservatives, the birther movement is the Republican equivalent of those calling the 2000 election stolen years after the election was over--either way its a bit crazy.
Most importantly, it takes attention from the real arguments, Cap and Trade, Socialized Medicine, etc. For those of you who don't believe that Obama is American born, look at it this way, you are not going to win. Just like the lugnuts who were counting chads in 2002 weren't going to win. Besides if the whole Obama not being an American thing was true, Joe Biden would have slipped it out months ago.
Listen,I understand your love of the constitution, but the our founding fathers would be much better served by fighting for the Second Amendment. The only one served by the Birther movement is Barack Hussein Obama, because it gives him and his cronies the opportunity to dismiss the entire lot of us.

You are correct. This issue is being used by the left to marginalize Obama’s opposition. We should focus on Obama’s anti-Americanism at home and abroad and let the birth certificate issue drop. It serves no useful purpose for our side.

I’m one against all conspiracy theories, but I would argue this issue is not so clear. He may well be born in America, but theres certainly possibility that he may not be. Ppl who claim theres evidence that he was born in America based it solely on the short form. Theres contradictory stories in the media about what happened to the long form, and i wouldn’t trust the media to tell us the truth, they’ll try to protect obama even if he’s not born in america
No, it’s not too late. I’m sure the Zero has plans to run for reelection in 2012, and it would be nice to get to the bottom of this question before then. It looks like the “crazies” will have to do the heavy lifting to find out one way or the other, because the lamestream “conservatives” sure aren’t going to stick their cowardly necks out and ask pointed questions of Zero.
Anyone believing that this will actually help barry doesn’t understand the weak nature of his support to begin with.
There was a perfect zhit-storm (thanks Jim Lahey) that got him elected. Even those who voted for him had their doubts....this will reinforce those doubts.
Besides, even a blind man could see his agenda for this country is contrary to the laws of common sense. Those who believe he hates white people and this great country are supported by the radical agend he is trying to force down our collective throats.

Most importantly, it may be true.
Second, it’s simple for the morons among us to grasp. Many in the public don’t have the time or inclination to investigate complex policy decisions like healthcare - nor do they believe that it will ultimately affect them.
On the other hand, a simple issue like this - an imposter in the White House - can easily turn the marginal skeptical against him.
This is a soundbite ADD culture.
