Considering that one of the things she claims further in the article appears to be incorrect, I feel I need to question the rest of her claims. I jumped to Amazon.com and found several copies of Orwell’s 1984 available.

The incident to which the author is referring is the deletion of both Orwell books, 1984 & Animal Farm, from the Kindle devices which Amazon sells. The print versions have remained available.

I jumped to Amazon.com and found several copies of Orwells 1984 available.I think what happened was, they pulled it off of "Kindle", their electronic book. The story was that they were getting it from a provider who had not secured copyright permission, so I think the whole thing was a legal glitch.
