On a positive note for Specter, at least he's still more popular with voters than the President's stimulus plan. The numbers may even be worse than they look for Democrats. As the economy continues to worsen, the party will be down in 2010, and now that he's switched sides, Specter is the only option.
"My colleague Greg Giroux reported yesterday that Specter's campaign had to give back nearly $225,000 to donors, most of it to his Republican supporters, following his party switch.
One silver lining for Specter: He holds a powerful lead over his most notable prospective Democratic primary challenger, Joe Sestak, who is in his second term representing the 7th District in suburban Philadelphia. Specter's advantage over Sestak is 55 percent to 23 percent."
That may be the only piece of good news for Specter, but if his numbers continue to slide, it's awful news for the Democrat Party.

Specter could always become a RINO before the election.
Specter is the new Daschle... the leftist chump we most want to see lose his senate seat.
How is that Scottish Law workin’ for ya Arlen....
Daschle. Not a bad comparison.
It will totally make my November ‘10 if Specter, having lost to Sestak in the primary, gets his clock cleaned by Toomey.
Too funny. Remember when the media and Republican “moderates” were fretting over Toomey...
Would Spincter have survived cancer under zero’s health plan? Just askin.
If Sphincter, Murtha, and ___________ (fill in the blank for the most vile Marxist Democrat congress critter), lose in 2010, it will be a glorious reverse trifecta, and cause for much celebration on FR.
Wouldn’t that be ironic.
If Sphincter and MurthaFirka both lose on election night, I’d probably have a richter scale 12 orgasm just from hearing the news. I wonder if my heart could stand the ecstasy.
Let me be the first to say T.M.I. :oP
I’m hoping for a Chet Edwards loss.
No, I beg your pardon... this is T. M. I...
Let’s hope The Sphincter is “deeply saddened” by the results of the next election.
