He is most definately a historical wonk and sees the Left for what it is. I haven't read his new book but I can get it for free if I sign up for Townhall.com.
But leader? Put some paint on his face and hand him a spear- how many will follow? People are 'born' leaders, as was Reagan. There must be some charisma attached to their personna that encompases their ideology to such an extent others will follow, gladly.
A true leader is guided by the Truth, not analysis. If that weren't the case, Carl Rove would be President. McCain couldn't find the Truth as he couldn't find his rear-end with both hands 'cause he spent too many years in the Beltway.
Obama's crash-and-burn will result directly from his betrayal of the Truth. Hell, he and O'Biden couldn't find each other's asses with a road map- that's how far they're removed from the Truth.
Our Founders had it and it's been watered down over the years. Our Northeastern colleges have 'water boarded' it out of any "leaders" that might have risen from their ranks.
We have to look outside of Washington and the Northeast corridor of corruption to find a 'leader'. We must find an American with vision and charisma such that he/she can amass a following that will decimate the socialist juggernaut so embraced by our corrupt media.
2012 will be the battle of the Ages. It will define our course: be it freedom or slavery. People are already waking-up to the liars on the Left and the tolerance they 'profess'. Miss California found out what happens when you cross a homosexual. We will all soon find out what it feels like when we cross a 'government' employee representative (Acorner).
I've already seen a leader who can lead America in the direction it was origionally headed. We're supposed to be headed toward the Truth as worded in our founding documents. It will take some leadership to rally the masses toward this goal. And a boatload of charisma. Fortunately, these things come naturally to someone whose life has pointed them in this direction without the usual derailments common to many of our 'connected' politicians. It's much easier to ignore socialists and communists if you've never had to compromise with them.
35% for the crazy lunatic b*****ds, 65% for we normal people.
“Good point. The strong leaders right now are Newt, Demint, Inhoff, and Sessions. Everyone else is a pragmatist and a bowl of mush.”
I can’t believe anyone is still falling for Gingrich’s flip flopping squishy middle act. Don’t even put Newt in with those consistent conservatives.
Newt is all for amnesty and helped stop workplace enforcement in 1998 in Georgia. He’s squishy on Global warming and never met a lop sided cheap labor trade agreement he didn’t love.

Newt was also all for Bush/McCain’s amnesty.

Thanks for the reminder. I see Newt’s name brought up a lot here as some kind of conservative leader. I don’t know if people forget or just don’t know what positions he’s taken in the past, but he’s been pretty un-conservative on some of the biggest issues. I guess we’ll just have to keep reminding them.
