I was wondering why I had not seen any AARP notices or ads against this program... now I know.... they have been bought out.....
I no longer will be a part of this turn coat organization.
That is almost the way I describe them. I say they are a void surrounded by sphincter muscle.
AARP is a totally left wing organization that believes in big government at all levels. They claim to be non-partisan, but they are not. Plus, they get a cut from all of the businesses they front for. If you think that purchasing health insurance via an AARP United Health Insurance Plan, just shop around on the internet and you will find better deals.
The AARP is a “progressive” aka leftist anti-2nd Amendment organization: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,140986,00.html My retired parents told them to take a hike years ago.
I emailed AARP on the 19th and asked them if they would still support Obamacare if Medicare and Medicaid benefits would be reduced to help pay for it. They acknowledged my email and promised a quick response. Still waiting.
I believe in unregulated private ownership of firearms, so the AARP can take a flying one at that donut.
Yes - somehow they are bought and paid for, but where are the $$$ for them? Selling insurance is their Big Deal, but medical insurance will surely go away and if reports are correct, half of Medicare’s funds will be withdrawn, so what has Obozo promised them? It must be pretty big or it is powerful, well paid positions for the AARP top brass.
She explain that her son does not have medical coverage and this is the donut hole.
Actually the lady lied to him about the ‘donut hole’. The donut is part of Medicare Part D (prescription) insurance. Part D will only pay for medications up to a certain amount and quits paying until you, the individual, has spent $3500 (if I remember correctly) out of your own pocket for meds. Then Part D starts covering scrips again.
It is an every year occurence.
She totally lied!
I appreciate your wanting to critique the AARP about that specific issue and I apologize for wandering off topic. I’m afraid my antipathy for that bunch is manifold.
I keep getting AARP letters and a card to join. I always mail it back with a note that I don’t join socialist organizations. They keep sending me the junk. Next month I will mail them a 10 pound rock with my usual note, postage due on the rock of course.
Sorry, rant off. ;) It just makes me angry when these people lie and noone calls them on it.
Unfortunately, under the system now, if you take the Medicare Drug plan, then you are not elegible for the pharmaceutical freebies etc.
Depends on what state you are in. Hard to find better deals where we live.
No sweat Sheana. Ya done good.
When I turned 55 I joined AARP because they were so ubiquitous that I thought it would be almost un-American to NOT belong.
However, as time went by, I began to realize that they are merely shills for the ‘Rat party and constantly act as an echo chamber for all the ‘Rat talking points, etc. Their monthly magazine was saturated with pro-’Rat stuff to the point of being nauseating.
So the next time my membership was up for renewal, I left it lapse. When I received mailings asking me to re-up, I told them in no uncertain terms the reasons why I would no longer support them or be a member. That was at least 10 years ago; and words cannot express what a low opinion I have of AARP!
thank you Tucker! We, like you, believed it was almost unpatriotic not to belong..... I didn’t read their stuff, but thought them harmless... no longer.... I wish to see them go out of business and will share that as often as I can.
It is cruel to try and pull a fast one on a population who grew up trusting the government....
