I watched the interview on O’Reilly tonight. At first, I didn’t understand his objection, either, since he himself is representing the National Black Chamber of Congress. But, then he explained further.

If you watch the video, you’ll hear him say that he was speaking out against Cap & Trade, and then Boxer used quotes that had nothing to do with Cap & Trade. She used those quotes only because they were made by other African Americans, who were not representing business like the NBCC does. She used those quotes only because other black men had made them, and she put a spin on them.

If you listen, when O’Reilly presses him, Alford says:

“Well, first of all, the NAACP had a resolution saying they’re for a better environment... It did not address Cap and Trade. It did not address the Waxman-Markey bill. And her, with her usual embellishments, was trying to make this like it was something supporting the Waxman-Markey bill. It was not.”

He makes a good point. Alford is a businessman in favor of capitalism, and he was speaking against the bill from that point of view. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the NBCC is a private (nonprofit) organization that provides information to help black entrepreneurs start businesses. If so, more power to them. As long as no government funds are involved, I’m all for it.

Plus, even if he himself is a Dem, he has made some interesting observations about at least this one Dem, and he’s willing to fight this bill... So, he has my support, unless he backs off and joins the socialist crowd. Let’s hope he doesn’t.

Thanks, Islander, I suppose I should feel sorry for the brainless little runt but she is taking up a valuable space as one of my senators.
