You can't begin to fix the health-care system in this country until you address the unabated illegal immigration. You must pass an immigration reform bill that has bone-crushing fines for any company that hires an illegal immigrant. Hotels, restaurants, cleaners etc, etc will have to start paying a wage that will attract American citizens. It will be a little inflationary, but it will be worth it.

Once we understand and fix our immigration system, we will then be in a position to understand what America's true health-care cost is a percentage of GDP, and how many people citizens are actually without coverage. I suspect it's a much lower number than advertised.

But, without the illegal immigration problem fixed, health-care will never be fixable.

The government has no business “fixing” health care to start with. No nationalized health care. The way to “fix” it is to get the government out of it, just as the way to fix our economy is to get the government out of it. Period.
