The last few days conservatives have begun to demonize the health care system in Massachusetts. That's because, in the view of many conservatives, Massachusetts' health care system is congruent to the health care system that President Obama is attempting to construct. That's simplified. Here's how it's similar. It requires every citizen to have health insurance. It requires all employers, but the smallest, to provide health insurance to their employees. Finally, those that don't make enough money have their insurance subsidized. Here's how it's different. It has no public option.

Credible on the economy he certainly is. And she, my goodness! She said she would support people who feel about the country the way she does and 1 week to the day later, Charl!e Crist says he won’t ask her to campaign for him. She really knows how to play the game. I love that about her. In her resignation speech, she made her comment about the perks of being a lame duck Gov., and today I learned that Tim Pawlenty is on his (4th, I think) next surprise trip to Kuwait to visit with the troops. I’m in MN. I almost feel like telling him, “Save your efforts, Tim. This one is between Palin and Barbour.”
OK, if he and I both survive until 2102 I will forgo my previous concerns and promise to support him for President. Of course, since it won’t be an election year I can breathe a bit easier as I make such a promise...

The government has no business “fixing” health care to start with. No nationalized health care. The way to “fix” it is to get the government out of it, just as the way to fix our economy is to get the government out of it. Period.

As far as Palin being “contaminated” — well..., I sure hope not... :-)
So what do you have besides quoting Jim (don’t hide behind him it is unseemly) and calling people names. I am more interested in events between now and 2010. As for the 5 a reason of interest I think the government has done more to hamstring The Economy, Health Care, Energy, Education than to promoted progress in these areas. Security is the only one of the five that Government should have primary responsibility for, and their performance has been dismal in this area (which includes immigration - everyone’s favorite).
I will let my stated positions define me (I voted for Gov. Romney in the primary and with the same field I would do it again) .... Hopefully there will be a better field in 2012 but we have to get through 2010 first.
As far as I’m concerned all Romney-bots and Romney supporters can leave Free Republic as any supporter of Romney doesn’t belong here. It’s as simple as that... :-)

I am here because my views are (mostly) compatible with those stated by this owner of this forum and I try to conform to the standards set by him, but I refuse to be browbeat by petty name callers..

I agree with him on this. He already got a post from me when I disagreed with him and he gave a gracious response, which I appreciated.
However, on this issue, Jim Robinson has made his viewpoint crystal clear (and I’m of the same mind as he is on that issue). And I’m sure he will take care of it, as he says, since it’s his site... :-)
Because I'm on strike, and this is my picket line.
A terrible catastrophe is coming to what used to be the best medical system on the planet, all because of scheming greedy politicians who have convinced ignorant greedy leeches that they can have "free" medical care because it is their "right".
Providing a real solution is irrelevant, because the people pushing this have no desire to see inexpensive health care, or even universal health care. The only "universal" thing they want is universal power of life and death over those subjects they've deceived into believing they can get something for nothing. Since this issue has nothing to do with health care (except as a vehicle to more government power), providing a health care solution is a waste of time.
