I hate religion personally. It separates people from God...I know what you mean. I think I have a pretty good bond with God... without being in an organized religion or denomination. I don't need another man to tell me his interpretation to be the valid one.
But for somebody to wish death on an entire people because of their religion is a little harsh. That's no better than the "convert or die" attitudes conveyed by extremists in all religions.
The disgusting irony with lunatics like Star Traveler is that their fanatical and violent ideology (establishing a theocracy, imposing his religious interpretation on "infidels" and condoning murder) is not one inch different than the jihadis.
Replace "muslim" in his ramblings with "christian" or "infidel" and you have the kind of speech Ahmadinejad or some other garden variety jihadist would give.
That's "christianity" of the Fred Phelps Westboro cult kind.
Some people just wallow in their ignorance and savagery.

Please take a look at my post above. Would you say that it’s a accurate description of our ‘good buddy’?

Good points. People are people all over pretty much... we're designed to worship God specifically. But wed we're going to worship SOMETHING!...whether it be money, or power, or sex.
I'm not sure if you ever listen to any of J.V. McGee's teachings. He's considered one of the last old timey preachers. He says the same things about "religion". He hates it! For the large majority, people all do the same thing...which is to read God's Word from their perspective, and then pick out the parts which justify them in their wrongness. I've done this myself...and repented from it as well!...numerous times! But you've made a good point in that too many people are all too willing to give an agenda driven interpretation. There's a litmus test for people like this. Does their interpretation serve God? Is it able to be validated by God's Word? If not, then it's probably an incorrect interpretation.
God's Word from start to finish is a big, true story about how man fell, and how God made a way for man to be restored back to a right relationship with God through His Son, Yeshua (Jesus). This is readily apparent even if you completely remove the New Testament writings.
From what I've read and understand, this age isn't where WE get "justice". That would be the next age. Now granted, we might have to "pop" some bad guys out of necessity in the here and now. But the next age is where we get to put our foot on their necks....at least for 1000 years. :-) This age is where everybody (including ME) gets a chance to simply acknowledge that we're merely sinners saved by God's Grace... no better than jihadis, jew haters, murderers, and any other number of vile things we've been as people separated from God.
People are frustrated. They're at their wits end...and they don't often enough remember to simply ASK God what He thinks and then LISTEN for an answer!... more over this, they often rebel when they get an answer they don't LIKE. They're shortsighted and can't see any end to the problems around us, so they suggest things such as killing ALL Muslims! I'm pretty sure that IF you wanted to "go by the book" on this one, we're supposed to preach Jesus to them, and IF they hack us to pieces, then that's what was supposed to happen anyway! But if we go on a murderous rampage in spite of God's Word are we guilty of rebellion? I'd say so.
I'm holding out for the next age. :-)
