I take heat for saying this every time I write it. But Catholics still hold the all time world record for murdering Christians....at a grand total of somewhere in the ballpark of 300 million.

...and those who did the killing did it for things like people reading God's Word for themselves, and meeting outside the "authority" of the church...heresy...witchcraft... declaring that planets revolve around the sun (imagine that!).

But nobody seems to want them all dead. In fact, world leaders fawn over the pope.

I wasn't privy to the previous conversation, and to be honest with you, I probably won't chase it down. But for somebody to wish death on an entire people because of their religion is a little harsh. That's no better than the "convert or die" attitudes conveyed by extremists in all religions.

I hate religion personally. It separates people from God...and makes a bunch of stupid rules and puts people in power who ought not be in leadership positions.

The problem you two are talking about is spread across all religions. The fact that the world record holders for murdering Christians is NOT Muslim should be proof enough of that!

The disgusting irony with lunatics like Star Traveler is that their fanatical and violent ideology (establishing a theocracy, imposing his religious interpretation on "infidels" and condoning murder) is not one inch different than the jihadis.

Replace "muslim" in his ramblings with "christian" or "infidel" and you have the kind of speech Ahmadinejad or some other garden variety jihadist would give.
