Maybe it’s time to vet the “vetters”...so to speak.

I attended a TEA Party Saturday and one of the speakers didn’t sit well with me - it took me all of ten minutes on the net to find out additional info on this guy, info that confirmed my thoughts on this guy.

I also did a little investigation on a potential neighbor (found out she was a hooker wanting to open a massage parlor, not a barber as stated on her zoning application) and got the goods on a bad pastor (fired from 4 previous churches for embezzlement, adultery, fraud and other assorted naughtiness). Took me about 48 hours and a few bucks and I had them - if these people don’t mind digging dirt on regular citizens then they shouldn’t mind THEIR lives being investigated and published.

I have not yet embrassed the thought of a new party. But the corruption is both of the existing parties begs that action.

Much worse in the Dems, but the Republicans have some real baggage also.

Lord Acton understood this (I am not fan of English Royalty):

“Power corrupts and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely”

It is time to move the power center from DC.

To move most of the function of government back to the State and Local level where at least things are more “visible”.

10th Amendment movement, federal downsizing, have Congress meet less frequently and telecommute the rest of the time. (Texas legislature meets every other year unless called by the Governor)

U.S. Constitution requires-

“The Congress shall assemble at least once in every Year, and such Meeting shall (be on the first Monday in December,) (The preceding words in parentheses were superseded by the 20th Amendment, section 2.) unless they shall by Law appoint a different Day.”

Amended follows:

“2. The Congress shall assemble at least once in every year, and such meeting shall begin at noon on the 3d day of January, unless they shall by law appoint a different day.”

Imagine the congress meeting 1 time a year for 3 weeks. Would we sleep more peacefully at night?
