This Washington Times article nearly knocked me off my seat:
Obama to African leaders: Time for responsibility By Stephen Dinan | Saturday, July 11, 2009
LAQUILA, Italy | President Obama on Friday said African countries cannot blame colonialism for problems caused by corruption and their own bad governance as he embarked on his first trip as president to sub-Saharan Africa.
Mr. Obama also announced that he has secured a commitment from major countries to spend $20 billion on food security aid, or $5 billion more than expected from world leaders meeting in Italy this week. But he said rather than simple assistance, this money will be managed to help people become self-sufficient, provide for their families and lift their standards of living. [...]
First, kudos to Obama for taking to task the many despotic heads-of-state who keep their nations dangerous and destitute for decades on end. Maybe it actually took a black president to say this to the despotic leaders of Africa. So that in and of itself is a good thing.
Nevertheless, I find it hard not to view Obama as disingenuous. Isn't the president calling the proverbial kettle, um ... black? Doesnt he realize that many of these leaders are left-wing central government ideologues, just as he is, and that they have simply implemented the same left-wing central government policies that Obama is trying to impose at home?
Dont get me wrong. Im not saying Obama is machete-ing refugees in the streets of America. But lets be clear here: These leader whom Obama is chastising are his brethren, pure and simple.
Too harsh? Case in point: In Obamas ancestral homeland of Kenya there sits a corrupt Marxist leader Raila Odinga who not only received public support from

Yes he lectured them how to do it more efficiently!
Give a man a fish ... show them how.
He lectures Africa and than commits 63 billion of our dollars to them. Another insane move.
Yes, he’s offered scholarships to Cook County for Ghana’s most promising government officials.
What a meddler!
As always, what you do speaks so loudly in our ears that it is impossible...and would be foolish...to listen to what you say.

A lecture? No, Hussein is just upset because he isn’t able to rule quite as “efficiently” as his brothers in Africa. Damned Constitution and an armed public keep getting in his way.
Good governance? He fires an Inspector General who discovers fraud. It is “in your face” corruption. Payoffs to Acorn.
Yes, our Scumbag in chief isn't fooling anyone.
pot..kettle..black
Only watched a few painful minutes; the feed from Fox was a bit rough; and was hoping that it might betray TOTUS as well.
If only. . .
shoot - I missed the firing of the inspector general - but not surprised in the least.
Zero knows NOTHING BUT CORRUPTION.
Africans? They have had millions of years to figure out how to lead life and make things better for themselves. They know no other way than tyranny and corruption. It comes right from grassroots over millions of years. That is why they will continue to be the most backwards people on earth....right down to racism,,, amongst themselves!
What altered universe does 0bama reside in?
I sympathize with you. Finding something suitably obscene to call that subhuman Usurper is a challenge to the greatest of English scholars. The late Sir Winston Churchill could probably think of something.
The pot calling the kettle black.
