Brit Hume Says "Chickens are Coming Home to Roost" on First Stimulus Spending - Video 7/9/09

Here is video of Fox News' Brit Hume's commentary last night, July 9, 2009, where he said talk on Capitol Hill of a 2nd Stimulus Plan was being accompanied by the sound of "chickens coming home to roost." Hume says the failure of the first stimulus so far to make a difference in the economy is because it was really not designed to stimulate the economy, with very little to help small business or provide genuine tax relief to Americans. He suggests they could still take some of the money not yet allocated and redirect it to tax relief and to spur businesses to hire workers.

I think the chances are "slim to none" that the Democrats will do that. The $787 billion of the first stimulus may not have yet been spent, but you can be sure it has already been promised to someone the Democrats want to keep happy. You won't see that money redirected to what it should have been used for in the first place.

NOTE: Hume's "Chickens coming home to roost" remark should remind President Obama of another time, and another place where someone used that phrase (see the 3:09 mark of the video below) . . . . (Watch Video)

“He suggests they could still take some of the money not yet allocated and redirect it to tax relief”

Does it cost money to give us tax relief? Geez, what an upside world we live in. The bastardization of the English language disgusts me.

They always do. The chickens know that but the Democrats never learn.

This is news?
You did not see that from the start?

Hume's "Chickens coming home to roost" remark

Some Lefty, somewhere, will whine that this is a racist remark because Obama is black.

The ship is adrift and no one is at the helm. It will become, ‘everyman for himself’ before you can believe it!

Americans (with the wholesale affirmation/support of the MSM) have elected an incompetent, inexperienced, radical, populist poseur to the WH. Obama is a dangerous, immature fraud and Americans will have to live with the consequences for as long as he’s there….and for decades following.

If we survive the Obama administration I don’t know if we are resilient or strong enough to recover in the long run, even when he is gone. The man has essentially pawned our futures for us.

He is politically and personally so maladroit that the MSM well be busy for the next 3 decades, rehabilitating his image.

Didn't we know this immediately after the "stimulus" was passed?? Why has it taken this long for the SRM to figure this out?

The American people knew this by a 70%. They ignored us. The press knew it...but they followed orders.

A vast majority of the money has not been spent yet, and could be re-directed. The Republicans should push that idea hard and often.

The Republicans had a stimulus plan that cost half the democrat’s plan, and would have worked. Since half the money is still available, we could still push that plan.
