Biden Announces $155 Billion Hospital Plan to Fund Small Part Of Socialized Medicine - Video 7/8/09

Here is video of Vice-President Joe Biden today announcing a supposed $155 Billion deal with Hospitals to help pay for the Obama Administration's Health Care proposal. Supposedly, the agreement is that hospitals across the nation will donate $155 Billion that they will save through the Health Care Plan to help fund it.

What Biden does not say is that this only represents 10% of the total $1.5 Trillion cost of their Health Care Plan to bring socialized medicine to America. You and I know that the chances are slim to none that these hospitals will actually save that much money and be able to follow through with their vague commitment. We also can be sure the Socialized Medical Plan being pushed by the Democrats will wind up costing far more than the $1.5 Trillion they are admitting to today. This is a window-dressing attempt to make their plan sound doable, when the truth is something far different. . . . . . (Watch Video)

So the hospitals don't really have the money to "invest", just fairtale numbers from Obamah of what they will save under Obamah-Care?

Sorta like adding 'jobs not lost' to employment number gains.

I work for a community hospital in Michigan - we are breaking even this year, but next year it will be a struggle. We don’t have the $$$$ to donate to a cause that we know is doomed from the start.

As I understood it, the hospitals would offer price concessions in porportion to the amount of additional covered as a result of the new plan.

It does make sense, if there are more people covered, then there is less indigent care that has to be built into prices so prices should be able to fall.

The devil of course is in the details. How do you measure either side.

The ONLY way those hospitals will “contribute” will be through lower payments made to them by the Feds. Kind of like the word “investment” when used by a politician, but it really means “pork”. In reality, those hospitals will “contribute” Much, Much, more.

On American Family Radio, one of the commentators said that he bet the medical profession was, I think the term is “strong-armed”. He compared it to when the government took over the banks and the Bank of America president was presented with (in my words)-—an offer he couldn't refuse. I wouldn't put it past O and his thugs to threaten, demoralize, and do underhanded things to get the medical profession to come up with that. I was also not aware that only one-fourth of doctors are members of the main medical organization that is supporting Health Care.
