Governor Palin first speaking event will be at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley, California. She has been invited to speak at the 50th Anniversary Gala of the Simi Valley Republican Women.
Very nice.
She’ll draw more people than Joe Biden would if he handed out $50 bills to every attendee at any of his appearances.
Yup, she can even get used to being on Air Force One!
Watch for obambination to instantly react.
She should already prepare her counter-attack.
Have you been to the Reagan Library?
Sounds like you haven’t
RE: “Word from a freeper yesterday is the local chapter of FR are asking fellow freepers to bring flags, signs, and friends and neighbors to line the road and greet her.....that cost nothing. Pass the word”
***********
I can easily do this — have the time, live fairly close by, and have lots of flags!!! August 8 is the date???
Yes......didn’t walk all the grounds, but since it sits on that lovely huge hill, there must be lots of room for a ton of people.
Re: “Im thinking of flying our from Philly on friday the 7th. Is Simi Valley close to LAX ? Meaning is it a cab ride away?”
************
No, not a cab ride away — renting a car would be best — cab ride would cost far more I’m sure. It’s about 50 miles give or take each way from LAX. Worth the trip, though — couple of places in Simi to stay overnight so I’d do that if I were you. A Radisson or similar and some motels.
Oh yes, I have posted Michael Reagan’s praise of Gov. Palin many times and Michael knows who the real Conservatives are.
Thanks for the heads up on the distance. Rental does seem the best bet if I can’t get a friend to pick me up.
Again, this is Not a rally for Sarah.
She is guest speaker at a dinner at 8pm
There is a translator tool on GOOGLE
if you want to put this message in
for understanding.
Long, expensive cab ride. Go to baggage claim / ground transportation, go out the door, cross the first section of driveway, stand under a green sign for shuttles, and grab a Roadrunner Shuttle. Best to make reservations ahead of time www.rrshuttle.com. It’s about $50 for two people. There are a few nice hotels/motels here. Best Western Posada Royale is only about five minutes away.
Thanks for the info......already checked out the Best Western and a friend can pick me up.......unfortunetly though the word is that it is Invitation Only.....so unless something changes I wont be going.....too bad!
Thanks also...see my post above :(
WHERE do I get tickets?
Without tickets where should I go to show support?
I am in SoCal.
Al, How far is the ranch from the library?
The Reagan Ranch is in Santa Barbara up California 101, past Ventura. I'm not a Californian and it's been a while since I drove it, but I'm gonna guess 50-60 miles.
Without tickets where should I go to show support? We're working on it. :o)
I plan to put up a thread tomorrow morning asking for SIGN IDEAS.
Something SIMPLE, like:
L.A. Chapter, Sarah Palin at Reagan Library (8/8): Morning (AGAIN!) in America, "Tear Down this..."
Governor Sarah Palin to be speaker at Simi Valley Republican Women Celebration ^ | July 15, 2009 | RonDog (and FRiends)

The L.A. Chapter needs YOUR help with this FReep!
Sarah Palin is scheduled to be GUEST SPEAKER
in the Air Force One Pavilion of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
SATURDAY, August 8
for a 50th Anniversary Gala of the the Simi Valley Republican Women Federated
As I posted to MayflowerMadam on the other thread:
The purpose of THIS THREAD is to solicit SIGN IDEAS and post the most current information about this event, as it becomes available.Ive sent emails to the Republican group as well for verification that this is actually happening, and have not had any response...I am fairly confident that it **is** going to happen. But the Simi Valley group was not expecting to get so much attention, having planned this event since LONG before Sarah Palin's recent surprise announcement -- so they are hunkering down, and are not quite sure WHAT to do now.
Since we believe that MANY people will want to support Sarah -- and for whatever reason (i.e., the high cost and/or availability of tickets) will not be able to go to the dinner -- the L.A. Chapter is working on a way to help them still support Sarah, ANY WAY that we can.For now, the plan is for us to gather along the road at the entrance to the Reagan Library -- with AMERICAN FLAGS, and positive signs -- to show our support.
