Here’s a quick round-up of some more reactions.

Ann Coulter is her usual brilliant self:

Reactions Round-up

Here's what's cool about this: without even one of those gawd-awful, stupid, self-ingratiating title addenda, everyone knows what this thread is about.

With all the "news" spinning all around the world...the world is still keeping an eye on Sarah Palin.

I'm telling you what, talk about right-woman-right-place-right-time.

Godspeed, Sarah Palin, whatever you wind up doing.

"...she’s too big to be a lame-duck governor stuck dealing with fishing licenses in Anchorage right now."

Gotta love that Coulter.

What if Sarah Palin resigned because she's embarrassed about being a Republican following the Sanford and Ensign fiascoes? Hmmmmm.

I am a 1967 graduate of a very, very liberal Ivy League school who grew up in the Northeast. I still live in the Northeast and have to put up with the taxes, the liberal P.C. b.s., and a government following in the California footsteps to oblivion. I am not a phony artsy type trying to impress the world with my I.Q. or good intentions. Some people might call me insensitive to the plight of the less fortunate, but I'm not. I just believe that this world would be a far better place if everyone accepted the personal responsibility for their own circumstances and felt that they could improve their lot in life by applying themselves and not relying on government. I accept the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. While I'm not anyone who you might consider to be religious, I do feel that living by a personal moral code is a better path than doing what feels good. I have always liked most forms of music (rap is not music IMO). Five or six years ago I became thoroughly disgusted by popular music of the day. I never heard of the artists, couldn't understand the lyrics, and never found myself humming any tune that had been released since the year 2000. And then I found country music or, to be more precise, it found me. I fell in love with the emotion, the sincerity, the humor and the simplicity of genre. I was captivated by the sweet melodies and the personalities of the artists. They were real and they were fun. Any emotion I had ever felt in my life was honestly and unapologetically expressed by one song or another. I learned how to listen to the music for what it was without being concerned by the accents (twang) and down-home language (double negatives invariably built around the word “ain't”). Country music was real. Country music was fun.

The parallels between the developments in popular music and American politics in the last twenty years are staggering. It is difficult for me to determine which has gone downhill more steeply. The art of political character assassination has reached an all time low. For me, the culmination of that decline was the effort to slander Sarah Palin prior to the election. That the media has continued the effort unabated since the election is absolutely disgusting. In my mind, Sarah Palin is the political equivalent of country music. She is honest and sincere. She is the breath of spring in the political arena. She is real and she is fun. She is the beautiful melody we have been needing and desperately waiting for.

I don’t know all of Sarah’s reasons for resigning as Gov of Alaska.

This much I do know....

Conservatives are searching for a leader.

Not some GWB/Harriet Miers type but a John Roberts/Sarah Palin type.

It feels selfish of me so say this because I don’t know what would be best for Sarah’s family but...anyway...

Sarah for President!

There's hope. I've been to three sold out concerts in the last year or so. Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and Keith Urban.

If you like that kind of CW, watch for Robert Earl Keen. He’s a Texas boy, but lately has been playing up in your neck of the woods. Puts on a great show and has some real good music. Also, check out Radio Free Texas on the net.
And if you ever want to visit one of the greatest CW venues and happen to be down here, look up Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, just north of San Antonio. Best of luck

Thanks. I spent a couple of years stationed at Randolph — hadn't thought about Gruene in years. We loved the Hill Country.
