we have a quiet little housekeeper at the hospital where I work...I know that she is from Iran, although she calls herself "Persian"...I've been asking her lately about whats happening....she used to have daily contact with her family back there...now, for two weeks...nothing....she is very worried....she escaped from there 10 yrs across the border, her and her 4 kids....went to Germany, and now is sponsored here in the states.....she has no other family here....and not many Persians to commiserate with.....
on this Independence Day, lets remember about all the people not so fortunate to be born here...to have to escape to here from monstrous other countries.....
this country is worth fighting for.....
