The Worst Thing About the Bruhaha Over Palin's Resignation
The Provocateur ^ | 07/03/2009 | Mike Volpe

I used to like watching the news. Then, Michael Jackson died and cable news became all Michael Jackson all the time. It appeared the endless tributes, speculation, and life long retrospectives were finally coming to an end. I could finally count on news regarding politics and economics again. Then, today, we had the shocking announcement that Sarah Palin would not only not run for a second term, but that she would resign.

Sarah has all the libs and MSM in a frenzy and a uproar...again. She is not getting out of the fight, to the contrary, IMHO, she is about to jump in with both feet.

I listened to her entire announcement. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there.

I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.

I think Sarah has just turned, like a fed-up mama Bear, on her detractors. She has put things in order, she has left them in the hands of capable people, and she has now turned to face her enemies directly.

...and I think they are going to be sorry. We have smelled the fear in them for a long time. Good on her!

I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support.

GO SARAH GO!

I agree...and she will have them running scared. They will redouble their attacks on her...but she will be traveling the country, helping other candidates, building huge political capital, and earning millions to prepare for her 2012 run.

She never ceases to amaze me. Her timing could not have been better, and the LW masses are losing their minds on DU, DK and Craigslist. They are posting some of the most absurd crap ever. They are going to speculate, accuse, point fingers, make up stories and just basically act like deranged children all weekend long. I love her for this. She will keep them off the streets, and on their little laptops hammering away with delusional posts until they go insane.

God Bless Her! She made the holiday a safe one by keeping the LW bloggers in their basements!!!!!

While it may be a mistake to envelope all of our hopes and desires in one person, I do believe that Sarah Palin is a natural leader. Throughout American history, Providence has always placed the exact right person in the exact right place at the exact right moment. To counter Obama, we do not need another politician. We need a phenomenon. In my opinion, Mrs. Palin is that phenomenon.

I am getting my Sarah news right from Sarah. I read her speech. The lame stream media will see that we do not want or need them at all, for anything. They are obsolete. No need to hear what some talking head wants to make of it, we all can decide for ourselves. Speculation, rumors and insults are all they offer. Sarah has said today “Don’t worry, this is a good thing.” That is good enough for me. Sarah can speak directly to the people...just like Ronald Reagan did.

I think she understands how dangerous the current situation really is, and that she felt she could not wait any longer to take the national stage, I visit HuffPo to see what the liberal idiots are talking about, and occasionally post.

I posted earlier that Sarah is the perfect BHO antidote for conservative Americans.

I predict she comes out with both barrels opened in the next few weeks.

I agree with you 100% and you have nailed it. Her options now are unlimited and she can now be a national spokesman.

We have the senate who in my opinion will pass Cap and Trade and 0bamacare. It's just getting downright scary...

She will make a difference and she knows what she is doing.

Sun Tzu would be proud.

As he wisely said, "All war is deception."

"Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate."

The only problem with that scenario is that the moderates and independents fault her on experience, credibility and competence (unfairly, of course). Leaving her position of governor prematurely will not help her with them (and she needs some of them, at least, to win the general). We all know she’s smart and capable, but they have a bias against her. She can’t win with our conservative support alone, can she? That’s why I think the senate route may be one she is considering in order to repair this perceived weakness. We’ll see. In any event, I hope she laughs all the way to the bank with her book sales and speaking engagement fees.
