A long time friend of mine from Jersey, Rick, and a Catholic Republican voted for Obama. I asked him why and he became angry. I asked Rick about social issues that Obama supported that conflicted with his Catholic faith, and I asked him about economic issues that Obama held that were opposite of what Rick had always stood for.

End the end Rick became abusive, refused to discuss the why’s or logic of his vote and played the race card. Since I am from the South I must be a racist for not agreeing with Rick. So ended a long time friendship.

Elections have consequences.

I’ve seen people become very defensive about their vote and I think it’s that they know they screwed up, but will fight to the end to make it a good thing they did.

That’s why the approval ratings are so high. No one wants to admit they screwed up.

I also wonder about some hypnosis going on because rational people just became oddly cultish about him.
