In an almost incomprehensible act of political fealty, Wal-Mart has teamed up with its tormentors to send a clear and resounding message- they want the government to start rationing healthcare. Is that really what Wal-Mart wants or are they just practicing self-preservation in the era of big government control over everything?

Are they serious?? Upside world again. Guess no more wal-mart.
Walmart just did what most rent seekers do.
What did you expect them to do? 95% of Walmart employees have health care right now.
Not shopping at the Commy walton store anymore.
Well, I’m done with Walmart! After I post this, I’m going right to their website & tell them how I feel.
This is discouraging, and I feel it is a betrayal on Walmart’s part to the American people.
Ping!
I vote for this... it is called staying alive... (shrug)
After the shock of this news, my reaction was I NEED to go to Walmart every so often for those small items I can’t get anywhere else. But THEN, I realized I can get them on the internet from the manufacturers and not have to fight the terrible traffic and parking problems at WalMart. SO LONG, WALMART, hope you like waiting six months for emergency surgery.
Why is this surprising? Most businesses would love to be able to dump their costly health insurance policies.
Almost every company in the country is going to take the same position. Walmart just beat them to it.
Our health insurance is through BP, as a retiree of ARCO. Right from the start, BP warned us that they were not contractually obligated to continue our health insurance and that it was a matter of corporate largess that they were doing so. As it is, they dump you onto medicare as soon as possible. You can bet that BP would dump all its employees onto a federal system if they could.
Still, Walmart only said that they supported regulations requiring all companies to provide health insurance. I don’t think that they said that they wanted the public option. That’s Obamacare.

Me too ... What did you expect them to do.
It is somewhat ironic that the lefties who hate Wal-Mart are, in a sense, going to be subsidizing them with tax dollars. The joke is kind of on them. Wait until they realize it.
A guy from Cato institute was on Glenn Beck’s show today and said he talked with a lobbyist from Wal Mart who said Wal Mart has always supported universal health care. He said they are supporting mandated employee care because of Target that provides cheaper care. It is a matter of competition. But this same kind of alliance of businesses with the government went on in Germany too under Hitler. Wait and see.
I think people are starting to get the picture. We are on the road to H$LL and America will end as we have known it.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to boycott Wal-Mart, because I stopped shopping there a long time ago. If I need Chinese products I found that they were available elsewhere.
