The Long Slog on Race Continues

Although New Haven's firefighters deservedly won in the Supreme Court, it is deeply depressing that they won narrowly -- 5 to 4. The egregious behavior by that city's government, in a context of racial rabble-rousing, did not seem legally suspect to even one of the court's four liberals, whose harmony seemed to reflect result-oriented rather than law-driven reasoning.

We will never get over the race issue as long as Affirmative Action is in place. It says that discrimination is ok against white people. When white people become a minority, it will still be OK to discriminate against whites. This is scary.

With this kind of institutionalized discrimination, whites may be taken to the ovens.

I've been thinking that part of the reason Blacks didn't do as well is because a number of them may have been less than qualified affirmative action hires in the first place. A good possibility and if so of course they wouldn't do as well going forward.

Maybe some of them should have never been hired in the first place.

AA is bad enough if you're hiring garbage collectors but to use AA to hire fire fighters is bad for public safety.

5/4 was a depressing outcome.

The law is but one more area of life in what was once a prosperous land governed by a constitution as interpreted by honest judges working toward justice rather than backwards from a desired result.

Very soon the American people will have greater problems on their hands than the fate of a few white job applicants. Very soon they will see how another area of life, the economic architecture of the nation, has also been perverted by liberals.

And, excuse me for being overtly racist here... blacks (many) know they don’t have to study, that they will be promoted simply because they’re black. Like the jailer in my daughters precinct that has let three prisoners escape and everyone that should do something about it do nothing because he’s black. Automatic discrimination suit and an automatic win.

I would like the justices, who voted to deny him his constitutional rights, to have to stand before Frank Ricci and tell him face to face that it’s a good thing he was discriminated against. They don’t have the guts.
