WHAT MARK SANFORD SHOULD HAVE SAID
THE FREEDOM POST ^ | June 29, 2009 | TheCapitalist

Posted on 06/29/2009 3:49:34 PM PDT by TheFreedomPoster

I remember all of the reverberations from the Dems during the Lewinsky affair that "it was only sex," and that "it's his private life" and that "it doesn't affect his job performance." Well, if this is true, then why is it only true for Democrats?

What he should have said was, “I’m sorry, I was wrong and I resign.”

>> What he should have said was, “I’m sorry, I was wrong and I resign.”

What he REALLY should have said was, “You’re very beautiful and intelligent, but I am a married man and I love my wife. So, nothing personal, but I can’t go to bed with you.”

I think it was more the running off out of the country without leaving anyone in charge that will really do him in moreso than the adultery.

He should have waited a few days until MJ died. Then no one would have heard his confession.

You're right, of course. Too bad he doesn't have one of those "way-back machines".

It IS too bad.

But, since that’s the way it is, as you suggested, he should resign his position of authority — which he clearly doesn’t deserve — and go and try to make amends.

How about “I’m an idiot, kick my behind out the door before I decide to do anything again”

Sanford has a Narcissistic Personality Disorder
He also thinks it is OK to screw around with another
gal because his wife and 4 sons will should go along
with it.

Sanford also thinks it is OK to just walk off the job for several days and go to another country at tax payer expense.

Then thinks, what is the big deal and not man enough
to resign.

Because it isn't true. Clinton should also have said, "I'm sorry, I was wrong and I resign". Instead, we were treated to one of the most embarrassing moments in American history. And as a result, my mother, a lifetime democrat, who believed him at first, no longer even votes.

It isn’t. Don’t forget Spitzer.
Also, didn’t Sanford use State vehicles to get himself to and from the airport? Misuse of public funds is more than enough reason for him to resign.

I agree. His priority now should be to his wife and kids and not to his position. If he truly is remorseful, they are the ones he has betrayed the most. But he has said he won't resign, so I can only believe that his only regret is that he got caught.

How about the voters kicking him out? Assuming he doesn't have the decency to resign.

He actually got caught months ago. It just became public now. His wife/kids haven’t been his priority for months, maybe years. I doubt it changes now.

To make this go away, he just needs to change party affiliation.
