perhaps he should have signed the conservative pledge at conservativepledge.org then we woulda known how he would vote on such issues...
(yes, my friend developed it and is trying to get candidates to sign it as we speak) And no, I don’t know how to make links...i’m technologically impaired...
Has DE put forward anyone good? Pete DuPont tried to run for president but lacked the fire in the belly to run for the Senate. There was a respected senator in the 1960s named John Williams.
DE has a reputation as a money hungry state. For a TINY piece of interstate highway that goes through there THEY charge a toll.
I read that James Madiscon scolded the state of DE during debate at the constitutional convention, claiming that it had aided the Tories in the Revolution. But then there was Caesar Rodney.
I like everything about Mike Castle but I take exception with the article’s ref to the state of Delaware:
“Mike represents that great state of Delaware. You know the state - it’s the one that pulled the stunt to become the first state after lying to Benny Franklin that they’d wait so Pennsylvania could have that honor. Speaking of liars, Pennsylvania got its revenge by vomiting ten-year old Joey Biden into Delaware’s coffers. Yeah, same state. That’s gonna leave a stain hard to remove. Try some white vinegar.”
Delaware has had a hard time being its own state. We had PA, MD and NJ trying to swallow us up. Look at a map. There is no good reason why Delaware isnt the whole damn penninsula. But then again we Delawareans wouldnt want those eastern shore hillbillies. As for Ben Franklin being out foxed? Didnt know that happened. I love that DE had a hand in getting the better of that Quaker french loving perv.
I always viewed Delaware as a sort-of off-shore barge - - a place for entreprenuers to incorprate, and that’s it.
Arrgh. How bout Roth of the Kemp Roth bill that started the whole save instead of being taxed movement? What about Pete Dupont. The killer kick ass thing is that Biden as a senator was never ultra liberal(I dont know about his place sitter in the senate) and Carper is middle of the road but then moderate Castle does the big no no which is vote for and be one of the deciding votes, crossing the isle to vote for the biggest tax and largest power grab that the US has ever done.
