The Olympic budget for Chicago has been all the buzz as of late. Daley keeps going back and forth on how much the taxpayers are going be responsible to pay for. It seems that we will be stuck with a $500 million tab for something most people I have spoken to don't really want.

Shrug... Chicago keeps re-electing Daley. How can it be said the people don’t approve of what he does?
If granted the games Daley will spare no expense, he’ll than cry poverty and our Dear Leader will bail him out.
Youould say that about every action taken by Obama and the Democrats since January.
Oct 2nd is the date the City of Madrid, Rio De Janeiro, Chicago or Tokyo will be selected.
I would like Tokyo to win. Great City to visit. But because of China hosting in 08, not likely will it go to another asian country. Hope I am wrong.
Madrid would be out because London will have hosted it in 2012.
I hope the IOC doesn’t award it to Chicago because of 0.
Money is on Rio to host.
I live in the Chicagoland area and I have to state, please, please, please do not let these games be awarded to Chicago. What an unbelievable nightmare it will be, both financially and structurally.
As a Chicagoan, I pray you are correct. The new taxes will be too much to bear. Among many civic-minded types at my private club, there is great enthusiasm; however, the more rational business folks, like me, are hoping and praying the city does not get selected.
Chicago is a great City. I went to the Olympics in Beijing. It was fantastic. Not sure how London will do.
Daley will institute a new temporary tax just to help fund the Olympics. LOL They will find a reason to make the tax permanent as you know.
Temporary taxes always become permanent, just like tolls.
