Inhofe said the bill, if passed, would constitute the largest tax increase in the history of the country.

It ain’t over ‘till the fat lady sings.
Fine but we were told it was dead in the House.
Actually, I think the fix is in from both sides. I hope I’m wrong but I think not.
Let’s make sure it doesn’t pass in the Senate. Some literary ammo:

It barely passed in the house...and lets be honest...a number of folks were given some kind of “pay-back”...either a new road construction project or a airport construction project...to make up for the pain involved.
Typically....the senate actually thinks about things. Example....they didn’t ever pass the Kyoto Treaty. In fact, it really didn’t get any support whatsoever. In this case...I think Reid can only count on 46 total senators (which includes four republicans who will vote yes on this). The electrical companies and various special interest groups can now bait their senators and get this tossed out or have a massive amount of the structure of the bill lessened. Lets face it....there are hundreds of things in this bill that have to be coupled with each other....if you remove five or six things...then the whole purpose of the bill is worthless.
Right - who would have thought this could ever have passed the House? Our nation is committing suicide before our very eyes.
For the first time in history America’s leadership is forcing poverty on its people instead of encouraging prosperity.
Obama’s dream of liquidating the kulaks is coming to pass.
If Inhofe says this is dead, then this is dead. I don’t see this passing the Senate on the eve of America’s birthday, and if it does then we need to cue the Bill Pullman speech scene from “Independence Day.”
We need to start a letter writing campaign and phone calls today. We need to coordinate and do this.
A day should not pass without every senator receiving a phone call or letter telling them we know this bill is coming up for a vote and it had better die.
As for the GOP, ever single time they send you an envelope asking for money, print out a copy of your electric bill and shove it in their envelope.
If we let our anger die down and start to back off we will not take our country back....
Well Done, Mate
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
We cannot let our anger die. If we do, this country is over. And we need to use every method imaginable to put this country back in the hands of we, the people. The professional politicians have shown themselves to be inept, impotent, irresponsible, and corrupt.
How many of us want real change? If so, take action!
We cannot let our anger die. If we do, this country is over.
Dennis, I must not understand this bill and I suspect that most Americans don’t even know what the heck it is. So we are going to have higher taxes? Considering 1/2 of Americans don’t pay taxes. Who is going to pay these taxes? Businesses? What is this about really?
I’ll be up there for the Sept. 11 rally, that’s why we’ve put this convention together for Freepers to do....
(’CAP AND TRADE’ DEAD IN SENATE)
That should keep the market from tanking on Monday. After crap and trade passes in the Senate, all hell will break loose in this country as planned.
Objective? America as a third world country.
I never heard it was dead in the house, in fact I heard the exact opposite, that Pelosi would pay off enough congressman to get at least 218, which is exactly what she did.
