Tom Ridge laid down the gauntlet on Rush Limbaugh, and evicting him from the Republican Party... blaming Limbaugh and Dick Cheney for having a mindset, that doesnt foster unity.
Okay, let me get this straight. A guy who wants unity just "evicted" a fellow Republican, and then publicly berated another? Exactly what the hell does Tom Ridge define "unity" as?

Doesn’t unity have to come from the people who turn on you?
Doesn’t unity have to come first from the guy who crossed the party line in the first place?
Rush is right where he has always been, and in terms of GOP fundamental principles, its right where I have generally always been as well. Powell walked away from those principles, Rush didn’t and I didn’t. Powell obviously wasn’t that worried about “party unity” when he did that.
I, on the other hand, am very worried about party unity. I want the party to know what it believes in and work to advance what it believes in. If Powell believes those things, too, then he’s welcome. If he doesn’t believe in those fundamental principles then he’d probably be happier in the other party. The one he voted for.

I hope these fools keep this crap up. Another monumental loss for the GOP in 2010 might wake them. Or not. But one can dream, I guess.
On that note, its becoming clearer to me that there is no way in the world the GOP elite RINOs are going to let Sarah Palin even be considered for the 2012 race. Why? Because conservatives like Rush, Coulter, Beck, Ingraham like and support her. And that just can't happen sine Rush and his 'ilk' are so bad for the GOP.
I am so glad I no longer identify as a Republican. I am first and foremost a conservative. Always will be.
