Gaea is pissed. After years of throwing carbon-fueled tantrums, now she wants more carbon dioxide and turned down the thermostat to protest the upcoming international climate treatise. We must quickly burn garbage in the most inefficient manner possible and bomb the rainforests with tons of burning coal to appease our secular god and thus have her spare our delicate global ecosystem. Yes, in order to save the planet, we must adopt whichever forms of stupidity that will increase taxes, redistribute wealth, and destroy capitalism. All endeavors lacking these key elements are not real solutions - Gaea demands the total destruction of individual liberty. "The environment" is supposed to be our surest bet for implementing global communism/fascism/socialism, no matter how demented our machinations need to be.
