Frankly, as disgusted as I am by Sanford's infidelity, that is not what I see as the major problem.

The problem that I see is that Sanford's behavior was totally irrational. He seems to be consciously throwing away his whole career and family for the sake of his concubine.

I don't understand why Sanford came back. He should have stayed in Argentina and gotten a divorce. It would have made more sense.
