Mark Sanford is a disgrace.

Deeply tragic that Sanford exhibited the primary fault of humanity--he is fallen and 'prone to wander.' For those who believe he is deserving of capital punishment, feel free to pick up those stones and hurl them (assuming you are without sin, yourself.)

I wouldn’t be angry had he just had the cajones to look into the camera and say “I have mistress, it is none of your business as it won’t affect my job as Governor. Deal with it.” turned from the podium and walked proudly out of the press conference.

Instead he abandons his job for several days so he can run to a foreign country and his mistress without anyone knowing where the hell he was. Basically abandoning his job for a women of another country.

If you were at work and you just walked out at noon someday and returned several days later and told everyone at the office that you had to fly to Mexico to see you mistress. How long would you be employed after that?

You are the second person I have seen on FR who referred to "casting the first stone" at Sanford as if we believe we are guiltless and "without sin."

We are not stoning the man.

We are correctly rebuking him for adultery which even Jesus said was grounds for divorce.

If we do not call evil by its true name, evil prevails.

It is evil to say because no person is sinless, we should not rebuke immoral acts. Moral people must rebuke adultery or we grant license to it.

Because lying is common, should we grant license to all manner of lying?
