Before I continue, I should digress for a moment and talk about my experience with the courthouse security folks with regards to my concealed pistol. I found some instructions on an Internet message board relating instructions for checking your firearms and noting that the security folks were professional.

WOW.You can check a firearm at your Court House? At ours they confiscate cellphones and oh you do not get it back that day, but the next day or the day after that.. I can only imagine a 48 hours stay in a cell if you showed up packing.. The only way I would ever enter our Court House is in handcuffs. Anyone that can not get out of jury duty isn’t trying..

It gets ridiculous sometimes. When going into the County Courthouse here in Colorado Springs to get a form, I could check my .45, but had to take my Swiss Army pocket knife back to my car or have it confiscated.
