If the Republican Party proves itself to be ineffectual in these critical times, it needs new leaders. We need representatives who hold conservative values and who look out for our vital interests. We need leaders, not political hacks. We need men and women with the courage of their convictions. We don’t need invertebrates.

We need leaders who look up at the flag for inspiration, not to see which way the wind is blowing.

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this, but do we have any statesmen on this site? I mean statesmen as opposed to politicians. Doesn’t matter if they are city council or up, just curious.

In the current political debate, some have described Republicans as MIA, missing in action. But this term is inappropriate − it connotes people who were in combat but cannot be found.

On the contrary, most congressional Republicans have been AWOL, absent without leave.

I would argue they aren't even AWOL. I say they're turncoats. They've joined the RATS.
