The bill before the House Thursday prohibits the release of detainees into the United States during the 2010 budget year. It would allow the transfer to the United States of detainees for prosecution or detention only after Congress has had two months to read a White House report on how it plans to shut the detention facility and disperse the inmates.
The House bill also requires the Obama administration to notify lawmakers of any plans to transfer detainees to other countries.

He should be held at Gitmo.
even if passed, based on “the ones” early track record, he’ll just appoint a “czar of prisoners” and completely bypass congress and do what he wants anyway..(I’d add a /s tag but I’m afraid it wouldn’t apply)..
Just like he's supposed to notify congress and give 30 days before firing IG's?
The man-child TOTUS has to face a little reality for a change.
prohibits the release of detainees into the United States during the 2010 budget year election cycle.
Fixed it.

Poll numbers say he is likable but his quick-change policies poll numbers suck.
I believe Americans will have had enough change by 2010 and Republican have a great chance to take back congress and/or the senate.
...if they would only be strong Conservatives.
Let's pray that by 2010 Obamah is a lame-duck president!
“House Deals Obama Another Major Blow on Gitmo”
Only two words needed in that sentence, the “House Blows”!!!
If only we had a good place to put these guys.
Someplace... Oh... I don’t know... isolated, well under control by our military, but still outside the United States. Someplace tropical perhaps. With convenient air and sea access. An island would be ideal, as there’d be no place to escape to, and no harrassment from terrorists nearby.
If only we had a place like that.
He’ll just rush them in before the start of the 2010 budget year.
How about Martha's Vineyard?
It's not tropical but there is a tremendous amount of hot air generated there.
It would allow the transfer to the United States of detainees for prosecution or detention only after Congress has had two months to read a White House report on how it plans to shut the detention facility and disperse the inmates.
Sixty days to read a short report on such plans. No days to read a bill that quadruples our deficit for more than a decade.
Hussein has forgotten just how much arrogance there is in congress as well!
Why did liberals make such a big issue out of Gitmo in the first place? Why do they say that Gitmo gives us a black eye in the eyes of the rest of the world? And what comes next, since even lots of Democrats are resistant to Obama’s plans? Talk is cheap when they talk of closing Gitmo, but then where do you put those guys?
I couldn’t believe a few got released to Bermuda, where they are staying in a luxury hotel awaiting further action.
